How do we use special CTF skins on a CTF server?

Note: You can only use designated skins for CTF, but you can replace the files in the player directory. It is possible to use the Cyborg, and any other model in CTF, but you need to have "ctf_b" and "ctf_r" skin files. Just copy/rename my VirusCTF files to the CTF file names.  If you don't have the special CTF skin file names, don't worry just rename my skin you have to the filenames below.

VirusCTF = ctf_r         VirusCTF_I = ctf_r_I
VirusCTF2 = ctf_b     VirusCTF2_I = ctf_b_I

Set your skin by entering "skin cyborg" or whatever the model is called. You don't need to include the skin file.   You can also set up the model in the Multiplayer, Player Setup panel.

skin [model]

Warning: If someone is using a model that you have installed, but do not have the CTF skins for it the player will showup as "male/grunt", a green playered skin.

Why can't I join any servers?  It lists the servers but it won't let me in.

Answer 1.    There might be a maximum of people already in the server.

Answer 2.    You have the wrong version of Quake 2. In the lower right hand corner of the screen, it will tell you the version number.  You should have 3.10 version.  If you don't have it, download here. Click me
